The deal, in plain words.

This is what you are agreeing to when you start a Ripple plan. It is short on purpose, and it says the same things the pricing page says. No legalese, no surprises.

What you get

• A website, built for you. I design and build it myself, connect your domain, host it, and keep it fast, secure and online.
• Changes, by email. On the Business and Growth plans, send through whatever you want changed and I make it happen, as often as you like. On Starter you get the occasional small update. Bigger pieces of work we talk through first.
• A real person. You deal with me directly. I usually reply the same day.

What it costs

The plans and prices are on the pricing page, including GST. There is no setup fee, and every plan starts with 14 days free, so nothing is charged on the day you sign up. Yearly billing gets two months free. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; Ripple never sees your card details.

No lock-in

There is no contract term. You can cancel any time, and the plan simply stops at the end of what you have already paid for. If you cancel inside the first 14 days, you pay nothing at all.

Who owns what

• Your domain is yours. Always. I connect it to your new site, and if you leave, it stays with you.
• Your content is yours. Your words, your photos, your logo. If you leave, I hand your content over and I will not hold anything hostage.
• The hosting and the build are part of the plan. While you are on a plan, I host and maintain the site. If the plan ends, the hosted site comes down after your content is handed over.

Your old website

I leave your current website exactly as it is until you are happy with the new one. When you are ready, I point your domain at the new site so the switch is clean and there is no gap. Your email is separate from the website, so however you send and receive email today keeps working.

The boring but honest bits

• I keep things running, but no host on earth can promise a website will never have a hiccup. If something breaks, fixing it is my job and my priority.
• You are responsible for what your site says. I build with the content you give me or approve; you confirm it is accurate and yours to use.
• New Zealand law applies. Ripple is a Christchurch business, and nothing here overrides your rights under New Zealand consumer law.
